Jash!

Just got back from our dear friends Josh and Ashley's wedding in Cabo, and I wanted to share a few mini polaroids from the trip. It was an incredible weekend - we hung out by the pool, drank lots of beachy drinks, and got to connect with Ash and Josh's friends from all over. The actual wedding and all of the parties surrounding it were super fun too, and we tore up the dance floor (as you can see from about 40% of the pictures I took!)
We got to witness Josh and Ash officially get married at city hall this spring, and it was awesome to get to celebrate with them again with all of their family and friends in Mexico. Love you guys dearly!

Our English Wedding

When we were in England in July, we celebrated our marriage with Jonny's family and friends in what was called "a service of thanksgiving and blessing for marriage." Quite the mouthful, so when we tell people about it, sometimes we call it our second wedding. It was, essentially, a wedding.
Loin came all the way from Nashville for the second wedding even though she had been at the first. And not only that, but she figured out how to tie Jonny's bowtie via YouTube when no one else in the house knew how to do it.
Rather than wearing my wedding dress again, I wore the dress that I had worn for my debutante ball when I was 19 years old. I also wore a necklace that belonged to my great-grandmother - it's from the early early days of Tiffany!
Jonny's parents planned the whole event to a t, so we got to travel around Italy for two weeks leading up to the event without doing any of the planning. We just showed up on the day to an amazing event, all of which took place at the Prices' church in Harrow.
John, Jonny's dad, hung a giant American flag on one side of the church and a giant British flag on the other side. He also had the organist play the British national anthem and the American national anthem!
Our parents did so much for the event. Margaret, especially, was the star of the show, organizing the whole day and coordinating friends to make and serve the food and drinks at the reception.
I was amazed by the crowd at the church. Almost 200 people came to celebrate.
Jonny's nanny, Gladys, made the wedding cake.
There were amazing fascinators everywhere, and even my mom, my sister, and Alison participated.
During the tea and cocktails, friends were setting up the church as a banquet hall. It turned out beautifully, and dinner was really nice.
Daddy gave a speech full of stories about me growing up, and he used the acronym "Adventure" to tell what should have been 9 stories about me. He started on the "A", and he had a word and a story to go with it. Then the next letter he said was "V" and we just assumed he had accidentally skipped over the "D", but he had forgotten to put it in there completely!
Matthew, one of Jonny's two best men, gave his third wedding speech for us: rehearsal dinner, wedding #1, and now wedding 2: judgment day. Third time around, and he still made us all roll around laughing.
All in all, it was a lovely day, and we're now fully and completely 200% married!

Louise and Martin

When I said last week that I would be sharing more photos, I didn't realize how crazy my week was going to be. So a week later, here is my second post about Italy: Louise and Martin's wedding!
Sisters
The Price family boys
Mother of the bride and mother of the groom
There was such a cute and stylin baby boy there. Don't you love his hat?
I like this one of the senior Prices.
It started to get a little stormy, but thankfully the rain held off during the ceremony!
Can you tell which of the bridesmaids is related to me?
The bride and her daddy! Wish I'd gotten more pictures of them walking down the aisle.
Because Louise and Martin were getting married in Italy, they had to be married by an Italian priest. He spoke in Italian, and there was a translator who repeated what he said in English so that L and M knew what they were agreeing to!
This was totally new to me, but in English weddings, the wedding party is seated.
First kiss as man and wife! Woohoo!
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Lake! I love their smiles in this picture.
Just after the ceremony, it started raining. The rain only lasted about ten minutes and cooled everything off, and Louise and Martin looked cute walking with an umbrella.
The English wedding cake is also totally different than wedding cakes I'm familiar with. It's a fruitcake that is made months in advance. Auntie Susan, Louise's mum (note "mum" not "mom"), made her cake!
I didn't do such a good job taking pictures at the reception, but here's a nice one of Rooney and Tom after dinner.

I also got a good one of the bride and groom at sunset.
It was amazing to look across the water to Mt. Vesuvius. Such a beautiful view and a beautiful night.

Happy 30th anniversary to my parents!

Happy 30th anniversary to my parents! It's amazing to think they were married 30 years ago today, and I'm so thankful to have been raised by them.

I've got lots of other pictures to share from this weekend in the next few days, but we're just lazing around enjoying the holiday today. Have a great Memorial Day!

Happy One Week!

I mentioned that last week we were going to a real wedding in addition to our royal wedding festivities. Our friends Josh and Ashley are getting married in Mexico later this year, but since you're not allowed to officially get married in Mexico, they had their official wedding at City Hall on Friday. We were so honored to be their witnesses. I had never been to city hall before - it was beautiful, Josh and Ashley looked amazing, and it was a very happy day.

Royal Wedding

Since Jonny is English, people keep asking me if we're following the Royal wedding. We haven't really gotten into it at all yet (we'll get there before the 29th!), but I have been loving the few things that turn up like this refrigerator and this thank-you plate

One of the coolest things I've seen so far is this wallpaper by Graham and Brown in honor of the royal wedding. It comes with jewels that you can add to the crowns yourself! If you're going to pay hommage to the royal wedding in your home decor, maybe a bathroom with this wallpaper would be more tasteful than the refrigerator option.

Old Photo Maker

My friend Caitlyn just found this totally random Japanese website that makes your photos look old. She took one of her pictures from our wedding and put it through there, and look how it turned out! How cool is that? Way to go Cait for being a pioneer in finding obscure and amazing internet tools.

Our wedding: Ceremony

I'm so thrilled to FINALLY be sharing our wedding photos. Over the next few days, I'll go through and share all of my favorites. We got married on October 23 (or 23 October if you're one of our English relatives reading this!) in Nashville, Tennessee.

My dress was originally worn by my grandmother for her wedding, and then my mom wore it when my parents got married in 1981. We worked with an incredible seamstress in Nashville who helped us carefully replace the lace on the bodice and then made a veil to match.

I had seven bridesmaids who wore Laundry by Shelli Segal dresses, and then seven house party girls who wore grey dresses of their own. I love how the grey and yellow looked together, and I love these pictures because it's all of my dearest friends together too!

Jonny and his groomsmen wore English morning suits.

I had been under control all weekend leading up to our wedding, but I started to tear up standing with my daddy outside of the sanctuary waiting to walk down the aisle.

We had a French impressionist, Jill Steenhuis, paint at our wedding. She painted the picture below of the ceremony and two other pictures that night, which was a pretty amazing feat! (We have one of them in our home that we need to have framed.)

I wish we had more pictures from the ceremony, but the church we got married in had strict rules about when photos could be taken in the sanctuary. My dear friend Anna Flautt (who also did my hair!) sang "We Bow Down" during the ceremony, and she did such an incredible job. It gave me chills.

Everything went beautifully, and it was so wonderful to have so many people we love in one place.

Stay tuned for more wedding pictures coming later this week! xo.

October 23

We've had a lot of fun reliving our wedding day through pictures that our friends have posted like this one:

But I'm excited to announce that our professional wedding pictures are finally here! Right here!

I'm sure I'll be sharing more on this blog once I get the disk from our awesome photographer, Rachel Williamson, but until then, enjoy.

Anenenenenenomies

I LOVE anemonies! I'm really, really, really not into checking wedding blogs or looking at wedding magazines or getting wedding email updates anymore, but I do love looking at these flowers. Aren't they so cool looking? I don't know much about flowers, but these seem like springtime flowers with a tone of fall, and I'd love to have them at our wedding.

Just FYI, I'm not not into wedding stuff because I'm not into our wedding, but I'm just so ready for that day and so ready to be married to Jonny, and I'm not into looking at wedding details and ideas.

October 23 is t-e-n days away!
