The most wonderful time

Jonny and I picked out our Christmas tree from the lot that is literally half a block from our house and decorated it last weekend. With the help of some friends who gave us great ornaments as wedding gifts (Thanks Dennis, Josh, Ashley, and the Jewells!), it's completed and our living room is looking festive.

Anthropologie Christmas

I was in Anthropologie last night making a ridiculously large purchase with my December birthday 15% off discount, and all of a sudden the store was packed with people, cider and snacks were being served, and they set up little demonstration tables all over the store to show how to make their beautiful Christmas decorations. One of my favorites was this feather tree.

If only I a) had more time, b) was better at following through on my crafts, and c) had a fully settled house so that I could devote my time to making Christmas decorations. Maybe next year!

The Best Halloween Costumes Ever

I know Halloween is way over, but I just stumbled upon the best Halloween costumes I've ever seen that a mom made for her quadruplet boys.

How awesome are these Where The Wild Things Are costumes?! I love them.

Nothing Short of Thankful

We spent this Thanksgiving in Nashville and had a fun time full of food (not only the Thanksgiving day feast but Pancake Pantry and SATCO and lots of other Nashville favorites), family (all 3 of my siblings were home for Thanksgiving for the first time in 5 years!), and football (including witnessing the Deacs beat the Dores and watching the on-field fight between Andre Johnson and Cortland Finnegan).

To explain the pictures, our whole family ran the Boulevard Bolt, a 5 mile race that takes place at 8am on Thanksgiving day. We all dressed up, and as you can clearly see, Jonny was the Mayflower since he came over from England. He ran a full five miles with a pinata boat strapped to the top of his head! We did a bunch of other things that we didn't take pictures of, but we did document Ben Folds with the Nashville Symphony, which was a really awesome show. The last photo is Jonny, me, Loin, and Lod after the show.

I just kept thinking all weekend about how much we have to be thankful for. Hope your Thanksgivings were happy!

October 23

We've had a lot of fun reliving our wedding day through pictures that our friends have posted like this one:

But I'm excited to announce that our professional wedding pictures are finally here! Right here!

I'm sure I'll be sharing more on this blog once I get the disk from our awesome photographer, Rachel Williamson, but until then, enjoy.

Happy happy weekend!

It's the weekend!! (Meant to put this up yesterday, but things were too busy before the weekend actually started).

What are you up to this weekend? I'm planning on celebrating Jonathon Stalls' last day of his walk across the country for Kiva, going to our awesome friend Lauren's housewarming party tonight, and taking a tour with Lydia and Caroline, my design friends slash home decor gurus, through the Elle Decor Designer Showcase home on Sunday.

I'm also hoping for lots of hang time with my boy before he boards a plane back to Toronto on Sunday night.

Have a happy weekend!

Polaroids

We chose to have polaroids for our guestbook at our wedding so that all of our guests would have a picture of themselves next to the note that they wrote. I wish I had a good picture of the guestbook, but I haven't actually seen it yet since it's been completed.

We took one of the cameras with us to New Caledonia, and it was fun to try out taking pictures on the island to see how they turned out as polaroids. Here are a few favorites:

We played a lot of scrabble by the beach and the pool. I'm pretty sure I have the winning record.

We also took a little dive in la piscine naturelle, saw some incredible fish, and took a really flattering picture with our masks.

And finally, I'll leave you with some individual shots - me awkwardly posing by myself in front of island greenery and Jonny blending in to the white of the overexposed ocean.

Scenes from New Caledonia

On a whim, we chose to spend our honeymoon in New Caledonia. We knew we wanted to spend our weeks on a remote island in the Pacific and we wanted to go somewhere that neither of us had ever been or might ever go. New Caledonia is a French island near Fiji, and it was absolutely fantastic. Perfect weather, great food, and lots of time together. We would highly recommend it if you don't mind traveling for 24 hours to get there! Below are a few pictures from our time there.

On the beach in front of our bungalow about to head for dinner:

 Our little beach bungalow:

I loved how, because we were technically in France, everything was in French, even the knobs on the sink:
Our view of the lagoon from our back porch:

I don't normally like pictures of my feet, but this just shows the beautiful ocean right outside our bungalow, so I'll let this one go up:

Another look at the lagoon from our porch:

Mealtime!:

Our view from breakfast every morning:

And one of my very favorite things about where we chose to go on our honeymoon: all of the Japanese couples there were wearing matching honeymoon outfits. I tried to get a picture and this is the best that I did:

All in all, it was such an incredible few weeks together in a beautiful place, and I'm so glad we got to take the trip. I'll definitely be sharing lots more pictures from our wedding and honeymoon and other joyous affairs in the days to come, so get excited!

Home from the Honey

We just got home from our honeymoon in New Caledonia and New Zealand this weekend, and we've been busy busy unpacking, settling into our house, and eating at Chili's for our first dinner back in the US! We had such a fun wedding and honeymoon, and I can't wait to share pictures as soon as I get them all uploaded and sorted. For now, here is a little sunshine and blue skies from New Caledonia to combat the black skies of San Francisco.

Anenenenenenomies

I LOVE anemonies! I'm really, really, really not into checking wedding blogs or looking at wedding magazines or getting wedding email updates anymore, but I do love looking at these flowers. Aren't they so cool looking? I don't know much about flowers, but these seem like springtime flowers with a tone of fall, and I'd love to have them at our wedding.

Just FYI, I'm not not into wedding stuff because I'm not into our wedding, but I'm just so ready for that day and so ready to be married to Jonny, and I'm not into looking at wedding details and ideas.

October 23 is t-e-n days away!

San Francisco Shower

I've got lots to catch up on! Over the past month, I've been gone three out of four weekends, and I'm just about to leave San Francisco for three weeks on Saturday.

There are lots of exciting times both behind me and ahead of me, and I'm so busy running around like a crazy woman that I haven't been documenting any of them.

I decided that I'm just going to slowly do a little bit of life catch-up on this blog, starting with pictures from a lovely little dinner party shower that my friends threw for me a few weeks ago.

Caitlyn, Katy, and me before dinner. Please notice Lydia's works of art in the background - portraits of roommates and friends by making their hairstyles with cut out cardstock.

Becca the amazing chef!

Thank you all for such a fun night! I felt so well loved and showered and celebrated.

This is what I want.

I have been searching for a long table with a bench for our new house, and this is a picture of exactly what I want. This image came from Yatzer, which I found with the help of my good friend Laura. Someone please tell me where I can find a table like this!

Bike Basket Pies

There's a lady here in San Francisco who makes mini-pies and peddles around, selling them from her bicycle. At Kiva, we had a little phase where we were ordering pies from her weekly. She would bike over with a delivery, and we would all have pies for breakfast or lunch or dessert. Check out her website here

J.Crew Factory Store ONLINE!

It's true - J.Crew Factory store is now online. This is going to be trouble.

Hello!

I'm a slacker with this blog, I know. I'm not even going to apologize - there's been too much going on in real life that I haven't had time to translate any of it into blog life.

Here's a few pictures from a lovely wedding that was featured by Katheryn on Snippet & Ink a few weeks ago:

I love the colors!

P.S. Guess who else was featured on Snippet & Ink a few months ago?!

More ideas for crates

The other day I posted about vintage crates as side tables, and then I came across this beautiful picture on Decor8. L-o-v-e.

Drinking out of a camera lens

Isn't this camera lens mug funny? I kind of love it. You can get one here (PhotoJojo is based in the Mission in SF!)

Scratch Maps!

Don't you love this scratch map? You can hang it and scratch off places that you've been with a coin. I want it!

Vintage Crates

I've been a pretty delinquent blogger lately, but I've had a lot going on. I've been trying to plan a wedding (lots to do before October 23), buy a house (almost there!), and hire a replacement for my old position at Kiva (I'm taking on a new role!). Plus, I've had friends in town. So with all of that, I've been a little slow on posting.

But I want to introduce you to a craft that I love. Maybe this could be my next Craft Night project?!

I l-o-v-e vintage crates. I think they're so cool, and it's one of my favorite things to pick up at the Alameda antique fair, and I love these tables that have been created out of vintage crates by Nashville-based Modern Arks

Aren't these so neat?! I really want to make one myself!
