Calligraphy

I am obsessed with Betsy Dunlap's calligraphy, and I am newly determined to learn how to write halfway decent calligraphy. After work tonight I went to the art store around the corner from my apartment and picked up a calligraphy pen and paper to get started on my latest goal.

Here is a sample of Betsy Dunlap's beautiful work:

After I tried it out, I decided I needed to relax and get a rhythm going. I tried copying a poem by Simon Armitage from a poetry class I took in college with my friend who is a real poet and writer.

Here's how it turned out:

I've definitely still got a long way to go, but at least it's a start. I'll keep you updated if I do end up making any progress.
