Calligraphy

I am obsessed with Betsy Dunlap's calligraphy, and I am newly determined to learn how to write halfway decent calligraphy. After work tonight I went to the art store around the corner from my apartment and picked up a calligraphy pen and paper to get started on my latest goal.

After I tried it out, I decided I needed to relax and get a rhythm going. I tried copying a poem by Simon Armitage from a poetry class I took in college with my friend who is a real poet and writer.

I've definitely still got a long way to go, but at least it's a start. I'll keep you updated if I do end up making any progress.

Starting out and packing up

I'm brand new to this blogging world (I know, I entered it about 8 years after everyone else...), so I'm just gonna try this out and see where it goes. I'll do my best to document life in San Francisco, travels, work at Kiva and other cool things going on in social entrepreneurship, favorite things online, and maybe a few other salty subjects that strike my fancy.

Today has been a pretty restful day. Just packing for a little trip to London, Paris, and the south of Spain with my boy!

I can't wait to be bouncing around Europe with Jonny again.

Isn't this Anthropologie bag so cute for a little getaway? I just bought it after admiring it for months and I l-o-v-e it! (Obviously not the only bag I'm packing in for the trip though - sorry, Jonny!)
